Machu Picchu

I finally arose at 4:12am after waking up every hour almost on the dot since about midnight. My mind could never settle down to sleep knowing that in just a couple hours I would be standing within one of the most amazing places on Earth.  Machu Picchu truly is one of the most remarkable, beautiful, majestic sights I have ever seen. The mystery and energy of this special place are felt by all who set foot upon its ruins. Here a some of my favorite pictures from Peru. Never stop exploring.

A most delicious Peruvian meal. Yes, that is Alpaca on the right.

One of my favorite things to do is people watch. I especially love to watch the locals when I am in their culture. Here are some pics of the beautiful Peruvian people.

Inside a local home. Yup, those are guinea pigs on the floor. The family raises them and sells them.

This guy is just pure awesome

A sacred shrine

The ruins of Saqsaywaman. First of all, how did the Inca people move such massive boulders? And notice how they all fit perfectly together. Absolutely incredible
Alpaca and Llama farm
It's a lot harder than riding a horse!

To dye the alpaca and llama hair, they squish a tiny bug and use its blood for the dye. This is a bug right after he squished it. Yummy.

A rainbow of alpaca and llama hair used to weave clothing
Weaving and weaving and weaving and weaving...
